Numerous soft and hardwood trees were damaged or blown down. A tree fell on a house. An outbuilding was destroyed. Numerous shingles were blown off homes.

A Storm Survey conducted by National Weather Service Blacksburg concluded that a small microburst caused wind damage to the area around 1800 Mt Tabor Rd. just north of Blacksburg, VA. A very large shed/barn completely collapsed at 1800 Mt Tabor. As you follow the path of damage slightly northeast from that collapsed shed, it appears to have gone through a field at 1832 Mt Tabor, but stayed between the barn and garden at that address. The barn doors were pulled from their hinges and a large piece of landscaping fabric that was held down by many bricks, has completely disappeared from the property. IP Address:.

NWS survey confirms EF-1 touched down 2 miles north-northwest of Swansonville at 9:27 PM and trcked northeast to 3 miles north of Swansonville. The tornado path length was just over a mile and the damage width was 250 yards. Numerous large softwood and hardwood trees were snapped or uprooted, with large branches broken. Damaged trees were noted on both sides of Strawberry Creek Lane, and several trees had fallen across the road. Many trees had also been snapped and uprooted in a densely wooded area adjacent to Strawberry Creek Lane.
