...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM EST TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY
MORNING...
The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a
* Flood Watch for portions of east central New York including the
following areas, Northern Warren, Hamilton and Northern Herkimer
Counties.
* From 1 AM EST Tuesday through Thursday morning
* Anomalously warm temperatures will allow for considerable snow
melt in the southern Adirondacks Tuesday morning into Wednesday
night. One to three inches of snow melt is expected. In
addition, half an inch to an inch and a half of rainfall is
possible tonight into Wednesday. Ice jam flooding is also
possible in the watch area.
* Significant rises are expected on rivers, streams and creeks
including the Sacandaga, Upper Hudson, and Schroon Rivers. The
potential for flooding will increase in the warm air mass with the
flood threat continuing into Thursday morning.
